10 tips and tricks related to the Sandbox User Interface.
1. Multiple ways of getting to functions. e.g. wireframe through menus, right click menu, and hitting f3
2. "by name functions" Up the top right there's a search bar. It'll search through the entities and brushes etc. and hide everything else.
3. Ctrl click = multiple selection, lock selection = only work with selected objs
4. Speed = speed of camera panning
5. Clip button, toggles terrain toggling. But not with objects.
6. Ctrl G puts you in game. AI/Physics (ctrl p) button starts the AI and physics, while staying in editor mode.
7. Double click input bar/ bottom right 3 dots. Shows the list of cvar's
8. Rollup Bar; create tab, modify tab, hide tab, layers tab. Show again from view menu. Where most of the work happens.
9. Toolbar; ZXY locks to specified axis. Snap to terrain/objects makes it easy to place objects. Snap to grid works well with industrial areas, or modules. Turn off for organic looking placement. Ruler, measures stuff. Duh. Named selections are for temp grouping of selections.
10. Dialogue bar, lots of commonly used tools. Asset browser and character menus etc.
