Landscape Design

A whole new environment created. After catastrophic global warming, a constant drizzle of acidic rain erodes the once overcrowded cities. Orange, sulfuric smog chokes the lungs and limits vision. Small shrubs and plants have adapted to the new soil acidity, but trees are leafless and stark. 

Forensic Architecture

The lower section of the building has completely collapsed, partially buried by a nearby landslide. Massive damage to the concrete building, from seismic events as well as erosion by acid rain mean much of the building is destroyed. It is also highly unstable and could collapse at any moment.

The Event

Nearly all traces of habitation have been eroded or destroyed. Wood, cloth and other perishable items have long fell victim to insects, bacteria and the pervasive acid rain. Rusting metal artefacts like cars, satellite dishes or filling cabinets still litter the now exposed building. Plastic bottles have also survived and will continue to long after its surroundings have gone.  

The Textures

Custom textures made in photoshop, blend layers, bumpmaps, decals and extensive use of mossy brushes give the surfaces of the building a distinctive, decayed look. 

Interactivity

Small animals that survived the dramatic temperature change eke out a living in the desolate landscape. The first floor has decayed and is now dangerously unstable. The weight of a person walking on it will likely cause it to collapse.
